When Emmy
Fell Asleep in the Car

“Will you
please go out of the kitchen, Emmy. I need to open the oven to take out the
Woody cookies,” Addie said.
“Mmm! Those
smell good!” Emmy said as she jumped out of the kitchen.
When the
cookies cooled, Addie and Emmy carefully placed four of them in a box for their
friends Harlow and Scarlett.
Soon it was
time to go, so Daddy buckled Emmy in her car seat nice and tight for safety. As
soon as he backed the car out of the driveway, Emmy was zonked out!
BUMP!
The ice had
cracked the road, and Emmy bumped her head on the cookie box when Daddy hit the
pot hole.
“Beek! Beek!
Beek!” Emmy cried.
Daddy handed
Emmy her blue Boo Boo Bunny and she held it against her noggin. Soon she felt
much better, and just in time! They had arrived at Harlow and Scarlett’s house!
Emmy skipped to
the door and handed the cookies to her friends who were waiting with smiles.
“Ooh! Thank
you, Emmy! I can’t wait to have one!” her friends said.
“Enjoy! See you
later, alligators!”
“After awhile, crocodile!”
they waved back as Emmy hopped back to the car.
Daddy buckled
her in and said, “You should probably try to stay awake on the drive home,
Emmy.”
“Probably,”
Emmy replied. And she did.
